Team Bayelsa has emerged champions of the 2023 National Para-games held in Abuja.
The 9 days event which commenced on the 7th-15th of December, 2023 in Abuja saw Bayelsa athletes put up spectacular performances from day 1 up to the final day of events. Bayelsa came first Position , followed by Abia and kano in second and third positions respectively.
It will be recalled that Bayelsa won the 1st Edition of the games in 2022 and have now retained the tittle for the second time .
In what seems to be a fun-filled closing ceremony held at the M.K.O Abiola National stadium in Abuja on the 14th of December , 2023, Team Bayelsa was handed the First position Trophy .
Bayelsa contingents are expected to return to Yenagoa on the 15th of December 2023 .
An Elated Bayelsa State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Chief Daniel Igali who received the first Position Trophy on behalf of Bayelsa State thanked God for the Victory While appreciating the Sports loving Governor and the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State for their unflinching support. He also thanked the Athletes and officials of Team Bayelsa for the success recorded at the games.
