On the 4th day of activities at the 2023 National Para-Games, athletes representing Bayelsa state are dominating in the track and Field events.

Bayelsa state Para athletes won 5 gold medals ,1 silver and 1 bronze medal in Para-athletics. keme ladipo in 200m wheelchair race, Goodness Ojo in 100m men, Joy Ahiakwo in shot put, Kennedy Ezeji in F42 and Ekechukwu Stephen in discus men all won gold medals while Igolikumo Angel Ekiou and Alfred won silver and bronze Medals respectively.

The impressive performance of team Bayelsa in Para-athletics has increased the medal records of Bayelsa state to 32 , setting a festival record of winning the games with more that 30 gold medals and surpassing its 2022 feat at Abuja where team Bayelsa had 30 gold medals to clinch the prestigious tittle as champions of the National Para-Games at the last edition.

As at the time of filling this report, Bayelsa has won medals in other events such as Para-karate -1 silver and 2 bronze, shooting- 1 silver and 1 bronze and para-powerlifting-1bronze medal.
