coaching Department

The Coaching department is saddled with the responsibility to helping athletes of all ages and abilities to reach their sporting potential. The department is headed by Catherine Sasuode.

functions

Training and manpower development for coaches
Developing ideas and advising the director of sports on matters affecting the execution of sports programmes at the state and national level
Also advising the Director on the recruitment, training and posting in the coaching division and supervising the function of the staff.
Overseeing the day to day administrative activities of the coaches
Attend to the need of the coaches
Represents the interest of the coaches at the management committee meetings of the sport council
Ensuring a well mapped out and co-ordinate calendar for the coaches
The overall supervision of coaches research work and coaching courses.
Competition, refresher courses and training programmes.
