Charges Team Bayelsa to Conquer

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sports Development, Honourable Daniel Igali, has extended his goodwill message to the state’s contingent ahead of the 22nd National Sports Festival holding in Ogun State.

The delegation, led by the Director of Sports at the Bayelsa State Sports Council, Sir Braveman Wodi, departed Yenagoa on Friday.

In his farewell address, Honourable Igali expressed the state’s full support for the athletes and conveyed optimism about their performance at the festival. He acknowledged that while some athletes may be representing the state for the first time, the tournament presents a valuable opportunity to make both themselves and the state proud.

Igali urged the team to build on Bayelsa’s impressive record in past editions by delivering a performance worthy of national recognition.

“Let me remind you that you are carrying the hopes and aspirations of Bayelsa. The governor of our dear state is confident of a successful outing and remains fully committed to supporting your efforts,” Igali said.

He also wished the team a safe journey to Ogun and encouraged them to continue being excellent ambassadors of Bayelsa, a state now widely recognized for its impact on the Nigerian sports scene.

Bayelsa State finished second at the last edition of the National Sports Festival, which was held in Asaba, Delta State, in 2022.
