The Niger Delta Sports Festival 2025 wrapped up in style, celebrating athletic excellence and unity. Held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the event showcased top talents from across the region.
In a historic victory, Team Bayelsa emerged as champions, winning the maiden edition with 42 gold, 29 silver, and 15 bronze medals. Their outstanding performance secured their place at the top, edging out Delta and Edo States.
The festival, sponsored by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), featured over 3,000 athletes competing in 17 sports disciplines, fostering regional pride and sports development.
This successful edition sets the stage for future competitions, promising even greater achievements for athletes in the Niger Delta.
