The Human Resources Department is responsible for matters of appointment, promotion, discipline and general welfare of Staff. The Department is headed by Gabriel Ayibalayefa, a Director of the Admin. Cadre on GL 16.

Functions

The Administration Department is charged with the following responsibilities:

Documentation of newly recruited officers by the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission (BYSSC);
Documentation of newly deployed officers to the Sports Council
Issuance of posting instructions as approved by the Director of Sports
Preparation of staff nominal roll
Raising of variation advice for a yearly salary increase, promotion, advancement, upgrading of officers
Up-grading of records of staff in the council
Conducting promotion exercise
Defense of Manpower budget for the creation of vacant positions
Handling cases of discipline in the council
Handling of the reinstatement of the disengaged officers
Handling of file movement
Handling of salary variation of staff
Claims of allowances of staff
Preparation of death benefit of officers
Handling of retired staff pension matters
